the only reason you would accuse me of being a "know-it-all" would be because you're sure that it's actually you who knows everything.

It's at once amazing and disconcerning...what we can convince ourselves is true. Startling declarations of character traits, passions, and goals. I remember once discussing on this very page the audacity of a magazine to claim that a person's friends are more knowledgeable about that person's character then they themselves are.

Well let me take this opportunity to contradict myself.

Sometimes people have not the slightest clue as to the truth of their nature. You think you're simple, friendly and optimistic? actually your self-centered, condesending and inconsiderate.

I hate when I stumble upon a character flaw that I would never lay claim to. This summer I realized that after two glasses of wine, I am the most annoying chatterbox. I learned that I'm not as courteous of a driver as thought.

I am so far from perfect I can't even make out its form in the distance...but that really doesn't stop me from getting hung up on other people's peccadilloes.

and somehow I still feel more justified.
